Where to find us?

St Andrew's and St Bartholomew's together form the Parish of Churchdown.
St Andrew's is located on the junction of Church Road and Station Road in Churchdown village and St Bartholomew's is in a beautiful position on top of Chosen Hill where, at night, its illuminated cross can be seen for miles around.

Sometimes life can be very confusing, anxiety producing - even painful. Many people are searching for spiritual answers. We at St Andrews and St Bartholomew’s believe that God is bigger and better and closer than we can imagine.

The Bible is God's perfect guidebook for living. We believe the Bible is uniquely God inspired, shapes our understanding of Him and provides for us a clear path to a relationship with Him.

As the Bible teaches, our deepest convictions are as follows:
 

  • God created us. He loves us. His desire has always been that we enjoy deep relationship with Him. God created humans to have fellowship with Him, but we have all in some way or another defied Him and become alienated from Him.
  • Jesus Christ is God's Son. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus voluntarily entered humanity, lived a perfect life, and voluntarily paid for our wrongdoings by dying on a cross as our substitute. He then rose from the dead and is alive today and mediating between us and God. Though Jesus was born over 2000 years ago, his message of forgiveness, hope and love is as relevant today as ever.
  • The Holy Spirit draws all people to Christ. He enters our lives when we receive Christ. He gives spiritual gifts to all believers for growth, service to others and development of our character to become more like Jesus.
  • The church of Jesus Christ is made up of all people everywhere who share the experience of meeting the living Jesus, who know Him as their Lord and who believe that forgiveness of our wrongdoings and right relationship with God are found through Him alone. Those forgiven through Christ will enjoy eternal fellowship with God. We anticipate the return of Jesus to earth someday to be physically present with His Church.

The Christian fellowship at St Andrews and St Bartholomew’s in Churchdown has been reaching out to this community in love for centuries..... and that is still the heart and passion of this church.
