RIPPLES

Last updated 11/5/2006

Ripples, now five years old, was a new venture for both St Andrew's and St Bartholomew's and the Methodist Church in Churchdown. The idea of a shop selling good quality second-hand goods and unwanted gifts came to Alan and Jill Flower when the Mini Fruit Market moved out of its tiny premises in Brookfield Road to occupy a much larger shop in Blacksmith Lane. In the last year it has contributed over £10000 to our Mission Giving!

The idea was to have a place where items can be 'dropped in' and then sold raising money for the mission work of the two churches. It also provided a stopping off place on the way to the post office where people could call in for a chat and even a cup of tea and talk about anything that might be of concern and at the same time learn what is happening in the churches locally and afar.

The venture opened on 21 May 2001 and is open most weekdays and Saturday mornings.

A full list of supported charities is given below:-

Both those who have manned the shop and the vast range of customers seem to appreciate it greatly.
